Connect an AI assistant to Master Merge

Add Master Merge to ChatGPT, Claude or any AI assistant that supports remote MCP servers. Your assistant can then look up which file tools we offer, walk you through how to use one, and read what other people have said about them.

1. Your server URL

Paste this address into your assistant when it asks for an MCP server or custom connector URL.

https://mastermerge.guru/mcp

2. Connect your assistant

ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT Settings → Connectors → Advanced and turn on Developer mode (read the risk notice shown there). If you don't see it, ask your ChatGPT admin to enable it.
  2. Click the Create app button next to the back button.
  3. Give the connector a name (for example "Master Merge") and paste the URL from above.
  4. Click Create.
  5. Enable the app from the chat composer, then ask ChatGPT to use Master Merge.

Claude

  1. Open the Add custom connector dialog — the name and URL are filled in for you.
  2. Review the details and click Add.
  3. If the prefilled form doesn't open, go to Claude's Connectors page, choose Add custom connector, name it "Master Merge" and paste the URL from above.
  4. Enable the connector from the chat composer, then ask Claude to use Master Merge.

Claude Code

  1. Run this command in a terminal:
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http master-merge 'https://mastermerge.guru/mcp'
  1. Start Claude Code and run /mcp to confirm Master Merge is connected.
  2. Ask Claude Code to use Master Merge.

Other MCP clients

  1. Open the client's MCP server or custom connector settings.
  2. Create a new remote MCP server connection.
  3. Name the connection "Master Merge" and paste the URL from above.
  4. Finish any sign-in or authorization prompts the client shows.
  5. Enable the connection, then ask your assistant to use Master Merge.

3. Refresh after we ship updates

Assistants remember what Master Merge could do when you first connected. When we add or change tools, refresh the connection to pick them up.

ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT's app preferences and pick Master Merge under Enabled apps.
  2. Next to Information, click Refresh.
  3. If the URL changed, paste the latest one from above.
  4. Start a new chat and ask ChatGPT to use Master Merge.

Claude

  1. Open the Connectors page and select the Master Merge connector.
  2. Refresh or update the connector's tools.
  3. If the URL changed, paste the latest one from above.
